Asset Sourcing

There are LOADS of sources out there to fin great typefaces, imagery, and other media for your work. Some of the ones I frequent are:

1) Unsplash—free!

  • Unsplash is a website that houses a large stock of photos that can be used free—for both personal and commercial purposes. You simply type what you want the subject matter of your photo to be, and any results will pop up for you to browse through and download—simple as that!

2) Pexels—free!

  • Pexels is just like Unsplash, except they also have videos available for download as well. This is a great resource if you need background videos (I wouldn’t recommend using the content as a crux in your designs by any means, but as an extra, bonus element).

3) Adobe Stock

  • Adobe Stock is not a free resource, but it does have much more range than Pexels and Unsplash. They offer photos and videos, but also vector imagery, photoshop files, mockup templates, brushes, and much more. It is a great resource if you have a wild idea and need a place to start before creating assets yourself!

4) Google Fonts—free!

  • This is one of my ABSOLUTE favorite resources to use! When working with clients, I like to use a Google font if applicable because it is so easy to use, easily accessible, and FREE! They have a large variety of options for serifs, san serifs, slabs, and even displays/scripts! I highly recommend starting here if you are looking to save money on your brand assets!
